We accept members all year round! Feel free to attend one of our general meetings which occur every other Wednesday of the semester. You can stay up to date on what FIMRC is doing by looking at our google calendar or signing up for our newsletter. If you’re interested in receiving the newsletter, please go to the "Contact Us" tab and fill out your information to be added to the list!
Do I have to be pre-health or a certain major to join?
Definitely not. We encourage all majors and colleges to participate in on-campus events as well as the international mission trips. Anyone who has a passion for serving others and helping those in underprivileged areas are welcome!
How do I apply for a mission trip?
Applications for the mission trips will become available at the beginning of each school year. You can receive this application by attending a general meeting, by being a part of the email listserv, or by checking the GHVP Trips tab on the website. Turn the application in by the deadline at a general meeting or by email.
Can I still be involved if I can't go on a mission trip?
YES, absolutely! There are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved with FIMRC on campus if you are unable to attend a mission trip. We have weekly volunteering at 3-4 different locations as well as several fund-raising events throughout the year. You can keep up to date on these events by checking the website or attending the monthly general meetings. Our general meetings are every other Wednesday at 7 pm!
Can I still be involved if I have class or another conflict during general meetings?
Yes. We totally understand that conflicts may arise. In this case, please speak with a board member, preferably Stanley, our president, after a general meeting or email him at [email protected] to let him know about the conflict. We will make arrangements to work around your schedule. Also, request to be added to the newsletter on the "Contact Us" page of our website. You will receive meeting recaps so you can go over what you missed at the meetings. It is still possible to apply to the mission trips if you have conflicts with the general meetings.
What if I can't meet the active member requirements?
It is important to our organization to have members who are committed and dedicated to FIMRC and its mission. If you are unable to meet active member requirements, please make sure to speak with someone on the board. Having active member status makes you eligible to apply for exec board and add FIMRC membership to your resume and future applications.
